Martha Wolfgram

Martha Fost Wolfgram, 90, died Feb. 8, 2003, at Wesley Homes Health Care Center in Des Moines, Wash.

Born April 19, 1912, in Peabody, she was the only child of Andrew and Ethel (Jirkle) Fost.

She graduated from Peabody High School with the class of 1930 and attended Kansas State Teacher's College in Emporia. She spent several years teaching in grade schools at Burns, Peabody, Kansas City, and Wichita.

She worked for Sedgwick County Welfare Department for two years and worked in personnel at Boeing for eight years.

Martha and Ben Wolfgram were married Aug. 22, 1955. They lived in Wichita until 1965 when they moved to Seattle, Wash., with the Boeing Company.

Martha had a great love of music with years of piano and choir. Her piano playing ended in 1975 when she had a stroke and lacked the hand strength to play. She still was able to sing, but not in choirs.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Memorial services were held Feb. 22, 2003, at Wesley Homes auditorium in Des Moines.
