Marion mother on panel to discuss teen alcohol abuse
Parents, teens, and county residents interested in the future of their communities are encouraged to attend a county-wide town hall meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at Marion City Auditorium, 203 N. Third Street, Marion, to discuss underage alcohol use.
Mary Beth Bowers of Marion will be a member of the panel to discuss the topic. She and husband Greg are the parents of Stephen Bowers who died Jan. 7 in a car crash that involved alcohol.
Other panelists include Erin Engelken of Eighth Judicial District Court Services; Jami Lawless, Prairie View, Inc.; and Teresa Walters, Flint Hills Regional Prevention Center.
The event is sponsored by Marion County Communities in Schools.
