Margaret Weber

Margaret Ruth Weber, 87, rural Burns, died July 19, 2006.

Born March 5, 1919, at Sedgwick, she was the daughter of the Rev. Charles and Florence (Gibson) Hutsell.

She graduated from Southwestern College in 1942, and was a substitute teacher as well as working as a bookkeeper at Burns Co-op Credit Union. She also was a junior accountant at Lundsford and Barnes Tax Office in Wichita for a number of years.

On Nov. 27, 1942, she married Kenneth Weber in Wichita.

She was a member of Burns United Methodist Church, where she served as treasurer of the church for 33 years. She was a member of Burns Study Club, United Methodist Women, American Legion auxiliary, and Burns school board for a number of years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; and a grandson.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth; three sons, Pete Weber of Hays, Scott Weber of Peabody, and Mack Weber of Burns; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service was held July 24 at Burns United Methodist Church. Cremation preceded the services.

Memorial funds have been established with Hospice Care of Kansas or Hough Ear Institute Cochlear Implants.
