Main Street Women's Fair committee meets

Peabody Main Street Women's Fair committee is looking forward to an exciting year of festivals.

The most recent meeting was held Jan. 10 in the Peabody City Council room. They reviewed minutes from their previous meeting and started planning their future.

The committee's decision to move the "big" fair to April 2004, and to hold quarterly "smaller" fairs, will give them an opportunity to practice. They will invite a variety of speakers and presenters from Peabody and surrounding areas. The fairs will be held downtown, with a luncheon provided with a ticket purchase.

The women are excited about this opportunity for Peabody women to "show their stuff." The plan is to start with a few smaller fairs and then grow from there. The committees are forming now and most have chairmen.

It is hoped that every woman in town will be connected to these events in one way or another.

The next meeting will be held at 7:15 p.m. today (Jan. 22) at the home of Janet Hamous. This will be a lock-in until the festival has a name. Those who would like to join may call Joanna Brazil at 983-2174 or Peggy Radisewitz-Weir at 983-2353.
