Main Street to promote local businesses
The Peabody Main Street retailer's group will bring readers of the Peabody Gazette-Bulletin a weekly column highlighting little known facts about the local business community.
The column, entitled "Ask the business pro" makes its debut this week and offers information local people may not know about the Peabody State Bank.
Joanna Brazil, Peabody Main Street director, said, "The 'Pros' will be the business owners themselves. We will ask each one to pose a question and answer about some facet of his business that the general public may not know."
"The idea," she continued, "is to acquaint or re-acquaint members of the community with goods and services available here in Peabody."
Brazil said that as a newcomer to the community she was often surprised by the number of services the local merchants were able to provide.
"I hope we can show Peabody people that sometimes all they need to do is ask. There is a wide variety of extras that the merchants and businesses provide," she said.
