Main Street plays host for concert
The first of two Concerts in the Park, hosted by the Peabody Main Street Association, was held June 22.
The evening opened with a Peabody debut of dancers Mackenzie Young, daughter of Chris and Jennifer Young, and Megan Bielefeld, daughter of Chris and Tisha Bielefeld.
The next performance was by Kevin Ensminger, guitar, and Shawna Winter, vocalist and featured several ballads.
Next up were the Saxomaniacs. Several Steven Foster and other popular songs were performed by the duo of Julie Ensminger and Steve Glover.
The final performers were Bob and the Boys who featured gospel music. The evening concluded with an enthusiastic response from the crowd for an encore. Bob and the Boys responded with a rousing rendition of "When the Saints Go Marching In."
Main Street board members Sharon Oursler and Jeanne Strotkamp hosted an ice cream social featuring Carol Smith's famous vanilla ice cream.
The next concert will be July 20 with the Senseney Music Community Band. Local musicians appearing will be Julie Ensminger, Steve Hamous, and Koni Jones.
