Main Street Marketplace is now online

By KRISTEN HOOPER

Director, Peabody Main Street Association

Peabody Main Street Association is excited to announce the launch of the Main Street Marketplace.

Main Street Marketplace is an online store linked through the City of Peabody website (www.peabodyks.com).

This online store offers the Peabody memorabilia and Peabody collectables previously available only in downtown businesses or in the Main Street office. Now these items may be purchased online for all to enjoy.

Main Street Marketplace was designed with the alumni in mind. This site offers alumni the chance to purchase limited edition collectables and memorabilia bringing a touch of home to wherever they may be.

The online store provides the opportunity to purchase any of the items sold locally in downtown businesses or the Main Street office at the same price, with a nominal charge for shipping and handling. Main Street Marketplace will ship to one address whether it is the person buying the item or to the person the gift was purchased for. This gives out-of-town family and friends a chance to purchase unique gifts for whomever might be on their to-buy-for list.

The items featured are the limited edition tree ornaments, mug featuring the high school, blank note cards featuring four historical buildings, and the high school key chain.

To kick off the launch of Main Street Marketplace, Peabody Main Street Association will discount the limited edition tree ornaments. The discounted price is two for $16 or one for $12. The two for $16 discounted price also will include the 2007 limited edition tree ornament featuring the west side of Main Street once the ornament has arrived.

This is the 12th and final year for a new ornament to be ordered. All of the previous years are available with the exception of the 2001 sixth edition, 1881 Morgan House, because it sold out. Once the remaining ornaments sell out they are gone. No more will be ordered.

The intent for the discount was to initiate interest in the website to increase sales. Once money is generated from the sales of the current merchandise offered, Main Street plans to purchase its next item, a 16-ounce stainless steel, spill-resistant, copper travel mug featuring the 1887 historic City Building.

Shopping the online store also provides alumni the opportunity to support the Peabody Main Street Association. PMSA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit and all of the proceeds of items purchased through the Main Street Marketplace online store help support the projects, programs, and general operations of the organization.

Currently Main Street Marketplace is designed to only accept checks or money orders. Once payment is received and the payment has been cleared, your merchandise will be shipped immediately.

What are you waiting for? Visit the website and purchase your memorabilia today! Again once these items are sold out they are gone for good. Don't get caught empty-handed.
