Main Street auction is great success

Annual event raises more than $9,000

Peabody Main Street held its memorabilia auction Saturday with great success.

The auction raised more than $9,300 and with some additional match money the total may reach $10,000.

Pretty good for one night! The dessert auction alone raked in $1,000. "Wow! The community has once again stepped up to show that we do indeed care about our future," praised Steve Hamous, President of the PMSA board of directors.

He added, "Marshall Auction has an amazing ability to make the bidding fun. We found ourselves bidding against our spouses, even ourselves, and enjoyed doing it for a great cause."

It was an amazing thing to watch the support, the laughter, and the momentum.

Funds raised at the auction will support projects and the organization's operating budget for the next two years.

We have many people to thank for contributions to the auction and dinner, and it took the community to make it so successful. Job well done!
