Main Street Association receives governor's awards
Peabody Main Street Association received honors and accolades in October from Kansas Department of Commerce during the Kansas Main Street Association annual convention by receiving three governor's awards. Susan Marshall, organization chairman, also was recognized as a volunteer of the year.
Marshall, who has volunteered with PMSA for the past 18 years, was recognized for her dedication, leadership, and service to the organization. She was one of three volunteers to be recognized in the state.
The association received an award for Promotion-Special Event for Peabody Prairie Christmas presents Western Wonderland. Committee members who were recognized were Mary Avery, chairman, Beth Eldridge, Leslie LaFoy, Jeff Pohlman, and Ed Slocombe.
The organization committee was honored for outstanding fund-raising for its Peabody Main Street Association "To Die For" Dessert Auction. Committee members are Marshall, chairman, Bob Marshall, Shane Marler, Morgan Marler, Janet Post, and Ed Slocombe.
