Main Street Association encourages shopping at home
Peabody Main Street Association is excited to report that there was a lot of "ticket stamping" going on over the weekend. People are taking advantage of the chance to win a Peabody Bucks shopping spree, and simply for doing what they like to do best — shop!
If you have ever wondered why you should shop locally, the following are the top 10 reasons why you should:
1) Your Tax Bill. When you shop in local stores, part of every dollar goes to pay local taxes which, in turn, pay for local goods and services for residents to enjoy.
2) Employment. Local businesses employ local residents, creating jobs for you, your children, your friends, and you neighbors.
3) Quality. Products and services purchased locally are backed by the reputation of the local merchant who sold them. Follow-up service is handled personally.
4) Save Money. Yes! Often times we do by saving time and gas. Our merchants offer competitive prices, but you have to shop in town to find out.
