Local student signs letter of intent
Christian Bengtsson, Peabody, has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Bethany College for the 2005-06 academic year.
Bengtsson is the son of Melita Bengtsson, München, Germany, and Jonas Bengtsson, Malmö, Sweden. His host parents are Harlin and Doris Unruh, Peabody.
He attended Peabody-Burns High School where he was named all-league honorable mention.
"We are pleased to have Chris choose to continue his education and basketball career at Bethany," said Bethany men's basketball coach Clair Oleen. "Chris is a fine young man whose best basketball is ahead of him, and he will fit in well as a genuine Swede."
