Local legion hosts dinner for visiting national dignitary
Hillsboro American Legion Post #366 will host national vice commander Sebastian Roll of Mott, N.D., with a steak supper Thursday.
The supper will begin at 6 p.m. at the post. Tickets are $8 and available at the post.
Roll served with the North Dakota Army National Guard from 1954 to 1963 as a platoon sergeant and on active duty from 1961 to 1962. He has been an active member of Taylor-Skartver American Legion Post #71 in Mott for 26 years.
He has held many key positions at post, district, department, and national levels including membership chairman, department commander, and National Guard-Reserve liaison for North Dakota.
Roll currently serves on the National Anericanism Council and the National Legislative Council. He also served twice on the Legion's National Security Council.
He will stop at Hillsboro as part of a five-day tour of Kansas where he will visit 20 Kansas American Legion posts.
