Local business students qualify for national
Peabody-Burns High School Business Professionals of America (BPA) members competed Feb. 24-26 during the state leadership conference at Wichita Airport Hilton and Friends University.
Of the 21 local BPA members, 15 qualified for the national leadership conference set for April in Anaheim, Calif.
Qualifying for nationals in the various categories were:
Fundamental accounting, Joseph Brunner; medical office procedures, Jesse Riggs; website development team, Brandon Crabtree, Zach Dameron, Tyler Litton, and Kurt Phillips.
Digital media production, Dameron; graphic design promotion, Phillips; interview skills, Jade Garcia and Stephanie Vetter.
Advertising interview skills, Kate Topham; banking and finance, Andrew Topham.
Administrative support team, K. Topham, Vetter, Megan Cox, and Rachel Womack.
PC troubleshooting, A. Topham. Administrative support, Laura Hoffman; information technology, Riggs; and parliamentary procedure, Hoffman.
During the state meeting, PBHS students competed in two events per person. There are 545 BPA students members in Kansas. Following are the PBHS state placings:
