Lions club sponsors Labor Day car show
The Marion Lions Club will sponsor this year's Labor Day car show Monday in Florence.
Entry fee is $15. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. at the former football field on West 8th in Florence. Contestants may drive through the parade at 11 a.m. (optional).
First, second, and third place trophies will be awarded in five classes: Class 1 - 1945 and older; Class 2 - 1946 to 1953; Class 3 - 1954 to 1963; Class 4 - 1964 and newer; Class 5 - antique trucks. Trophies also will be awarded to best of paint and best of show.
This year's show will feature a 1990 Mazda Miata convertible which has been painted by hand by members of an art club in Wichita.
