Lights will shine again at library
The lights from the former high school building will soon be burning brightly in Peabody again as a result of a grant given by Peabody Community Fund (PCF).
The lights, salvaged when the school building was demolished, will be installed outside the Anne Potter room in the basement of the library. A $300 grant for the project was awarded to the Peabody Historical Society and Peabody Township Library at PCF's fall "Souper Supper" Nov. 11.
"This is the kind of project we can do with donations made to the Peabody Community Fund," said PCF president, N.M. Patton. "The money comes back to the community."
Patton said contributions to the PCF are fully tax deductible, and may be directed to any of five funds already established, including: administrative, unrestricted, Peabody Main Street, Peabody Historical Society, and Peabody/Burns USD 398.
Patton said he hopes Peabody residents and alumni will consider the PCF as they make year-end giving decisions.
"No contribution is too small," he emphasized.
