LETTERS: Volunteers commended

To the Editor:

The Peabody Main Street Association put on a very good event, "Operation Celebration," over the three-day Memorial Day weekend. The weekend was full of information, displays, and entertainment.

This was a great way to honor our veterans of World War II. It is one of the few days in the year that the average person things about our veterans. Thinking about and thanking all of our veterans should be done 365 days a year.

A very big thank you to the PMSA and all the volunteers who spent countless hours to make this one of the proudest moments in the history of our city.

I'm not sure who the person was who was in charge of the weather for the weekend, but they did a very fine job. The weather was just great. The weathermen said it could have been touch-and-go most of the weekend.

For myself and my visiting family from out of town, I would like to give an extra thank you to Shane, Morgan, and the Robert Marshall family.
