LETTERS: Operation Celebration was magnificent
To the Editor:
Operation Celebration 2008 was a magnificent array of events that Peabody Main Street organizers, a superb group of community organizations, and individual volunteers created to bring special honor to those men and women who served in World War II.
Whether one was of my generation with vivid memories of those years or the succeeding generations whose awareness is tweaked from family stories or a brief unit in history class, this event was an appropriate thank you to the men and women thus honored.
Once again Peabody makes headlines that are positive. Cheers to all of you who have given alumni and visitors a treasured memory of a vital community.
