LETTERS: Apology to Red Hat ladies
To the Editor:
I want to offer my apologies to my sisters of the Red Hat Society because I let them down in the article that appeared last week chronicling our June meeting.
My first apology is to Ruth Topham who I neglected to list as attending the meeting. The Red Hat Society holds every member to be important and my faux pas was, perhaps, a "senior moment." In any event Ruth was there in a gorgeous new hat that she even let me try on. My apologies Ruth.
My second apology goes out to all the ladies who I know expected to see their beautiful hats and faces in the paper along with the article. Again — my fault. Why it never occurred to me a picture isn't much good without anything to identify the persons in the picture perhaps constitutes more than a senior moment (maybe more like a "senior week").
So there it is, the picture didn't appear because I messed up. The good news, of course, is that I am trainable.
Like everyone else I just need to be reminded from time to time not to get too full of myself. After all, when was the last time any of us did something foolish in private?
