Leonard Johnson

Leonard H. "Bud" Johnson, 66, Florence, died Aug. 14, 2002, at St. Luke Hospital in Marion.

Born Jan. 10, 1936, he was the son of Leonard and Opal (Jones) Johnson.

He was retired from Hallett Quarries where he was a laborer and dynamite charge man.

As he child he lived in Colorado and California, then moved to Florence in the mid-1960s.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Gloria Cox; and stepbrother, Bruce Marcum.

Survivors include daughters, Wanda Williams of Florence, Lemay Amaya of California, Ethel Shelburn of Eureka, Margaret Burckey of Florence, Sandy Riggs of Newton, and Rosie Clark of Charlie, Texas; brothers, Bob Johnson and Roger Johnson, both of Florence; sisters, June Redus of Florence, Anne Powell of West Covina, Calif., Cora Lee Gould of Cordina, Calif., Faye Price of Arp, Texas, and Ruth Whitcomb of Hamilton, Mont., 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services and burial were held Aug. 16 in Hillcrest Cemetery, Florence.

His obituary was printed incorrectly last week, as Lawrence Johnson instead of Leonard Johnson.
