Legacy Park collects items for military personnel
Legacy Park invites area communities to join them in donating items for 15 Marion County military service personnel.
Boxes will be located at Don's Drug and Peabody Market, Greenhaw Pharmacy, Alco, and Dollar General in Hillsboro, and Carlsons' Grocery and Duckwalls in Marion. The residents, staff, and children will help fill and package the boxes July 16.
Collection of items will extend through July 9. Items must be sealed. Suggestions are beef jerky, books, disposable cameras, camping style foods, hard candy, playing cards, Chapstick, dental floss, facial tissues, flashlights and batteries, powdered Gatorade, gum, moist wipes, Nerf footballs, odor eaters for boots, pens and pencils, international phone cards, premixed Koolaid, mosquito repellent with Deet, snack foods, tea bags, travel size toiletries, toothbrushes, and toothpaste.
If you wish to donate cash it will be used to purchase items for packages and shipping. Checks may be written to Legacy Park.
