Legacy Park
Residents at Legacy Park thoroughly enjoyed Alex Stuchlik's polka band early this summer. Family and guests also were present for the entertainment and homemade ice cream. Some of the residents supervised the ice cream making to make sure we did it right.
All residents, with friends and guests, took part in the fireworks celebration held July 1 in the parking lot. Legacy Park also had a float in the Fourth of July Peabody parade. Residents rode the float which took fourth place in the parade.
August was a busy month with two county fairs. Residents rode in Harvey County Fair parade Aug. 6 at Newton. They also took part in Marion County Fair parade Aug. 10. The fair entries in the open class division were a Reader's Digest Christmas Tree, vase sand art, and a coffee-filter angel. All received blue ribbons. Legacy Park also received a $20 gift certificate from Hillsboro State Bank for best nursing home entry. Howard Hess from Legacy Park apartments entered a patriotic bear latch hook rug and received a blue ribbon.
