Melody Magette of Greensburg arrived at the Ammeter home Saturday afternoon to pick up LaVonne and take her to Ellsworth to the home of her grandchildren, Emily and Kevin Haxton and Avery Cole Haxton. My, Avery has grown bigger and is so cute.
Everyone but Emily, LaVonne, Melody, and Avery went to the football game at Kansas State. We watched it on television and Grandma Melody and Great-grandma LaVonne took turns spoiling the baby. The ball game was a bummer, but very exciting.
Sunday morning was the big day — Avery Cole Haxton's baptism at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Ellsworth. It was such a really big day!
Those attending Mass, the baptism, and the dinner following in the parish hall were Emily and Kevin Haxton and honored guest, Avery Cole; godparents Amanda and Bryan Kantock, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Grandma Melody and Grandpa Steve Magette, Greensburg; Grandma Janie and Grandpa Larry Haxton, Claflin; Kyle and Brooke Haxton and Mason, Colwich; Gina Aberle, Karli and Kadin, Victoria; Monte and Robin Haxton and Zachariah, Wichita; Adam Magette, Manhattan; Eric and Kristin Magette, Salina; Great-grandma LaVonne Ammeter; and Father Dan Scheetz, pastor of St. Bernard's.
It was a lovely meal and lots of visiting took place at the parish hall, then we all went to Emily and Kevin's for the rest of the day.
Melody and Steve Magette brought LaVonne home late Sunday evening and ate supper before heading home. Everyone had a really lovely weekend.
