Angela Bunger of Minden, Neb., arrive at Grandma LaVonne's Wednesday evening to spend the night. The next morning we went to the home of Jack and Carolyn Metz in Wichita and they took us to the airport for our flight to Charleston, S.C. We changed planes at Cincinnati. Amy Drake, another granddaughter, was supposed to meet us there, but her flight was re-routed and we boarded the plane for Charleston. Rob Ammeter met us at the airport and we went to their home in Charleston. Amy arrived later and we all had supper with Rob, Christi, and Samantha. What a day! And what a sweet great-granddaughter.

We went to the ocean at the Isle of Palmer on Saturday and played in the water. Grandma and Samantha built sand castles. We ate a seafood dinner at the Boathouse, then went to old Charlestown in a horse drawn buggy. Awesome!

We went to the Magnolia Plantation Sunday and walked through the beautiful gardens and the Biblical gardens. We visited the antebellum cabin, rode the nature train tram around the swamp, toured the plantation houses where some of "Gone With The Wind" was filmed, saw the slave houses, alligators, and beautiful birds. We went back to the Ammeters and spent the remainder of the day in the pool and playing with Samantha.

We ate at a Mexican restaurant Monday, then went back to old Charleston, walked on Rainbow Row, and viewed all the big mansions. We also toured the park.

Angela and I flew out about 7 a.m. Tuesday. We flew to Dallas, then on to Wichita where Jack and Carolyn Metz met us and we came back to my house. We had lunch at the Town and Country in Florence where we visited with Donella Humphries. Angela then headed for Nebraska. What a great trip! It was very hot in Carolina and both weary travelers were glad to be home.
