LaVonne is home from South Carolina

I was gone last week, so I'll start with some old news from last week.

Bernice Harms and Joyce Kyle visited LaVonne Monday morning.

Maude Gaines and LaVonne ate lunch at the Burns Café Wednesday to celebrate LaVonne's birthday.

Ladies Aid met at LaVonne's Wednesday afternoon. Those quilting were Maude Gaines, Leona Widler, and Dorene Kirkpatrick.

Myron and Sally Ammeter of Grand Island, Neb. arrived at the Ammeter farm late Wednesday afternoon. They picked up LaVonne and went to Wichita to spend the night before their early morning flight to Dallas, then on to Charleston, S.C. They had rough weather going into Charleston and had to circle the airport for 45 minutes because it was closed due to a sever rainstorm. Rob Ammeter met us at the plane and we went to the Embassy Suites for lunch (Rob works there) and then on to Rob and Christy's home. Those two precious great-grandchildren welcomed us.

The grandparents, Myron and Sally, and Great-grandma LaVonne spent the whole day Friday playing and spoiling Alison and Samantha. Later in the evening, we boarded a cruise ship for dinner to celebrate my birthday. What a lovely surprise. We all enjoyed the evening cruise and good food. I felt like royalty.

We all spent the day Saturday on the beach playing in the sand and the ocean. The ocean to me is so awesome! Great-grandma and Samantha went seashell hunting.

We all relaxed Sunday and played with those special grandkids. Late afternoon, we went back to the ocean and toured the waterfront and Rainbow Avenue where all the big old houses are. We toured the Edmonston-Alston house in old Charleston, down along the ocean. There's so much history in the old part of Charleston.

Real early Monday morning, and I mean real early, we boarded our plane for Cincinnati, then on to Wichita. It was a nice flight.

We got into Wichita and the baggage door was jammed so we waited 45 minutes for our luggage. I've never seen so many impatient people! We ate lunch in Newton and Myron and Sally brought me back to the farm and went on to visit Opal Craney a short while before going back to Nebraska. They were four wonderful days and many great memories.

Maude Gaines visited Elsie Tittle in Florence Friday afternoon.

LaVonne and Maude quilted Tuesday afternoon at the senior center in Peabody.

Maude Gaines, LaVonne, and Sally Matz went to El Dorado Thursday. LaVonne had an eye appointment. They spent the afternoon visiting Bill and Marie Clark. Sonny and Joan Clark also were visitors.

Last Sunday Maude Gaines visited at the Mack Clark home. Bayleigh Clark was here from Colorado for spring break. Ike and Marie Clark also were visitors.

LaVonne and Maude were in Marion Friday for doctor appointments and ate lunch at the Pizza Hut.

Saturday visitors of LaVonne were Michele Montgomery of Florence and McKayla Oursler, who spent the day with Grandma LaVonne. Melissa Ramsey was a late afternoon visitor and Stan Ammeter spent the day.

LaVonne and Maude attended church Sunday at Ebenezer and went to Florence for lunch at the Chuck Wagon. In the afternoon they visited Elsie Tittle.

Maude and LaVonne attended the bell choir concert at the Methodist church in Peabody late Sunday afternoon. It was a lovely service. We got to visit with the Rev. Betty Partridge, my cousin.
