LaVonne attends graduation, receptions

Maude Gaines and LaVonne attended commencement exercises at the Brown Building for Peabody-Burns High School Class of 2003. Wow! What a crowd. Good music and the two class speakers did a great job!

Later Maude and LaVonne attended the reception for Jay Gfeller at the senior center, the reception for Jason Matz at Eastmoor church in Marion, and the reception for Heidi Zogelman at Nick and Sharon's home in Florence.

Such a busy, joyful day for many. Good luck and congratulations to all the seniors of 2003.

Maude Gaines and LaVonne Ammeter were shopping Monday in Hillsboro.

Michele Montgomery and Bob Hartnagel visited LaVonne late Monday afternoon and Kerrie Wiebe and Kenton visited Monday evening.

Blaine and Carol Ammeter of Ellinwood picked LaVonne up Tuesday morning and they attended the funeral of Carol's aunt, Jean Gfeller in El Dorado at the Temple Baptist Church. She was buried in the Wonsevu Cemetery.

Maude Gaines quilted Tuesday afternoon at the Peabody Senior Center.

Ladies Aid met Wednesday afternoon at LaVonne's. Those quilting were Leona Widler, Dorene Kirkpatrick, Sherry Nightengale, and Maude Gaines.

Lisa Clark visited LaVonne Thursday evening.

Maude Gaines went with LaVonne Saturday to deliver graduation cakes. Later in the afternoon they visited Ike and Marie Clark. Mac, Shayla, and Hadley Clark also were visitors.

We had church at Summit Sunday morning. The congregation was small, but the sermon was great as usual!

LaVonne was a Sunday dinner guest of the Bruce Sayers family. It was in honor of Sara who is a graduating senior this year. We wish her the best in whatever the future holds.

The highlight of the week for Grandma LaVonne was to get to visit with grandsons, Todd Ammeter and B.J. Ammeter and fiancé Jody Wulf of Manhattan. They were at graduation.

Maude Gaines and Sally Matz went to Ike and Marie Clark's Thursday for dinner and to spend the day. Others present were Bill and Marie Clark and Sonny and Joannie Clark of El Dorado, Joyce Barker and friend John of Wichita, Norma and Leroy Riggs of Marion, and Sherry and Marvin Nightengale.

Myron and Sally Ammeter of Grand Island, Neb., came Friday evening to spend the night and Saturday. They helped LaVonne deliver cakes Saturday and ate lunch in Florence. They went to Newton later in the afternoon and met Kathryn Ireland, Carolyn Metz, and Hazel Ireland at the Warkentine House. They saw a quilt show and toured the beautiful old house. There were lots of pretty quilts. Early evening, Myron and Sally went to Opal Craney's to spend the night and Sunday.

Don Gillet visited Myron, Sally, and LaVonne Saturday morning.

Saturday evening visitors of LaVonne were Ron and Donella Humphries of Florence.

Dorene Kirkpatrick and LaVonne worked in Florence Monday.

LaVonne was in Marion Tuesday for appointments with the dentist and chiropractor. Late in the afternoon, Maude Gaines and LaVonne quilted at the senior center in Peabody.

LaVonne went Tuesday night with Betty and Glen Kyle to the elementary school program at Peabody. It was such a good program. Mrs. Stucky does a great job with those students.

Ladies Aid met at LaVonne's Wednesday afternoon. Those attending were Dorene Kirkpatrick, Leona Widler, Maude Gaines, and Sherry Nightengale.

Delores Bowser visited LaVonne Wednesday evening. They went asparagus hunting.

Maude Gaines and LaVonne were shopping in Marion Friday morning. LaVonne visited Lois Sayers and Tom and Lisa Clark in the evening.

LaVonne attended Ebenezer Church Sunday morning. Stan Ammeter was a Mother's Day dinner guest of LaVonne. Steve and Melody Magette of Greensburg came in the afternoon and they went to Marion County Lake to Kingfisher's Inn for supper.

Bob Hartnagel and Michele Montgomery stopped Sunday evening to wish LaVonne a happy Mother's Day.

I hope all you Mothers had as good a Mother's Day as I did. Children, grandchildren, and friends surely are a blessing!
