Laura Tucker

Laura Violet Tucker, 91, El Dorado, died Jan. 15, 2002, at Bonner Springs.

Born Oct.16, 1910, at Braman, Okla., she was the daughter of the late Dr. A.E. and Caroline Amend.

She was married to Lyle Emerson Tucker on May 23, 1933, at Peabody. He died in 1999 after 65 years of marriage. They had lived in Minnesota, Colorado, Bonner Springs, and El Dorado.

She graduated from Peabody High School in 1928.

She was noted for her ability to re-finish trunks and other antiques. She also was a painter and writer of poetry.

Survivors include daughters Sharon Dillenbeck of Houston, Texas, and Lyn Spring, Bonner Springs; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services were held Saturday afternoon at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Peabody, conducted by Pastor Robert Kloth. Burial was in Prairie Lawn Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established with St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Kansas City Hospice.
