Larsen descendants meet for reunion
Descendants of the Lars and Berthe Larsen (Eliasen) family, Danish pioneer settlers of Marion County, met Sept. 12 for the annual reunion.
The families enjoyed a potluck luncheon in the Burns community building. Everyone shared in their 125-year Kansas history with a display of family photos, genealogy, and memory books. This year's reunion was hosted by Milton and Twila Larsen of Wichita and Lowell Larsen of Burns.
Fifty-four family members and friends attended the event from five states: Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, and Nebraska.
Descendants of Jacob Hansen Larsen who attended were Clyde and Lois Larsen, Garnett; Phyllis and Ted Ericson, Lincoln, Neb.; Christy and Jen Ericson and Jeff Knake, Kansas City; Bruce and Joyce Larsen, Milton and Twila Larsen, David and Kay Drennen-Larsen, and Willard Larsen, all of Wichita.
Ruth (Larsen) Aubuchon, Eureka; Flo (Larsen) Biehl, Lenexa; Lowell Larsen, Burns; Cordell, Audrey, Rhett, and Garret Larsen, Andover; and Marlin and Rose (Larsen) Decker, Katy, Texas.
Descendants of Lena Caroline (Larsen) Olsen who attended were Lawrence Andres, Peabody; Clifford and Rita Peterson, Redfield; and Robert Peterson, Sr., Iola.

The reunion is held yearly on the Sunday following Labor Day. The next reunion will be Sept. 11, 2005, at Burns Community Center.
