Lady Warriors wrap up regular season

Peabody-Burns High School Lady Warriors volleyball team finished the regular season Oct. 11 at Berean.
PBHS lost to Hope in three games then defeated Berean and Centre in two. The Lady Warriors finished the regular season 11-19.
In the Hope match the Lady Warriors took the first game to a 20-20 tie before winning five of the final six points. In game two Hope served the last 13 points to take the game 25-9. Game three went to Hope 25-11.
The Lady Warriors jumped ahead of Berean 11-9 in game one of the second match, and Kara Gridley served five points to take a 16-9 lead. PBHS would go on to win 25-16.
In game two the Lady Warriors led 15-13, but Berean battled back to a 24-all tie. The Lady Warriors won the final two points and the match.
The Cougars got off to a fast start in match three leading PBHS 21-11. Traci Windsor served eight points to cut the lead to two. Later Jessi Hilliard served four points in a row to give PBHS a 24-22 lead.
Both teams kept battling until the Lady Warriors finally won 30-28.
In game two the Lady Warriors took a 21-19 lead and cruised for a 25-19 victory.
The Lady Warriors returned to Berean Saturday for the lower bracket league tournament.
The were defeated by Ell-Saline 25-15, 25-18. They also fell to Berean 25-20, 22-25, 10-25.
In the final round of pool play they defeated Bennington 25-13, 25-14.
In bracket play PBHS beat Berean 25-20, 25-19, but lost in the finals once again to Ell-Saline 25-22, 25-16, for a second-place finish out of four teams.
