Lady Warriors win one, lose one

Lady Warriors were one and one this week with a 44-32 loss Tuesday at Remington, followed by a 54-36 victory Friday at Hartford.

Next action for the team included a trip Tuesday to Hutch Trinity and a Friday senior night match-up with Sedgwick.

During the Remington contest, the teams were even at the end of one period of play with 10 each. Jessi Hilliard paced the team with eight, including four free throws. Tiana McGee added a basket.

More Lady Warriors joined the offense in the second period. Hilliard had three. Traci Windsor, Elaina Newell, and McGee each put in two. PBHS led by one at the half, 19-18.

Lady Bronco offense outscored the Lady Warriors, 13-5, and claimed the lead in the third, 31-24. Newell and Windsor had a basket. Hilliard added a free throw.

PBHS defense had good hustle, but the team was plagued with turnovers throughout the contest. PBHS scored eight in the fourth. Hilliard had five and Kate Topham added a trey.

Hartford

Lady Warrior offense played even with Hartford in the first quarter. Hilliard paced the team with five. Newell had a trey and Windsor put in a two-pointer. PBHS was up 10-8 at the end of one.

Jaguar offense came alive in the second, putting up 15 points. PBHS offense came back to take the lead, 34-31. Hilliard had seven. McGee put in four. Jessica Gillet and Alstrom each added two.

The fourth quarter was all Lady Warriors. The defense held the Jaguars to five. The offense put in 20, including 14 free throws. Hilliard had eight. Alstrom had six. Topham and McGee each added three.
