Lady Warriors split matches at Little River

Peabody-Burns High School Lady Warriors traveled Sept. 12 to Little River. They defeated Canton-Galva in the first match 29-27, 25-23. In the second match, they were defeated by Little River, 13-25, 15-25. Up next were matches at home Tuesday and Saturday at Olpe.

Canton-Galva took the early 3-0 lead. PBHS came back and neither team could open more than a three-point lead throughout the game. Clarissa Terronez served three straight points to bring the Lady Warriors within two, 17-19. Tabitha O'Neal earned three service points to make it all even at 20. Bayleigh Clark and Jessi Hilliard teamed up for crucial kills and the PBHS squad took the Eagles to 29-27 for the game one win.

In game two, Terronez serve well with six service points including three aces. Becki Morris had seven service points to give the Lady Warriors a big lead at 21-14. At 24-18, the Eagles came back with five unanswered points and pulled to within one, 24-23. PBHS scored the last point to give them the game and the match. Hilliard had 13 kills in the match and Clark had 18 assists.

In game one against Little River, both teams were even at 12. PBHS offense went cold and Little River scored 11 consecutive points. The Lady Warriors lost game one, 13-25.

PBHS had good rallies in game two, but couldn't get the points. Despite good team play, they lost the game and the match.
