Lady Warriors lose two at home

The Lady Warriors made their last two home appearances for the regular season this past week. PBHS was defeated in both contests, with a Tuesday loss to Hutch Trinity, 65-42, and a Friday homecoming loss to Ell-Saline, 55-44. The regular season will wrap up on the road with trips to Remington, Bennington, and Berean.
Hutch Trinity
An even first quarter of offense was played against Hutch Trinity. Both teams had the advantage in the quarter, but the edge went to the Celtics, 16-15, at the buzzer. Elaina Newell paced the team with eight points. Jessi Hilliard had four. Tabitha O'Neal added a two and Bayleigh Clark sunk a free throw.
Lady Warrior offense went stale in the second with just four points, two by Gillet and two from Hilliard. Hutch Trinity offense added 14 and the halftime deficit for the PBHS squad was 11, 30-19.
Second half scoring went to the Celtics with the addition of 35 points. The Lady Warriors added 23. Hilliard paced the final half with 11. Newell chipped in nine and Morris had three. Hilliard led the team with 18 rebounds. Gillet pulled down 10 an O'Neal had eight.

Ell-Saline
Lady Warrior offense claimed a one-point advantage, 8-7, at the end of one period of play against Ell-Saline. Hilliard had five and Newell added a trey.
Early in the second period, PBHS surrendered the lead and trailed for the remainder of the quarter. They were down by three at the half, 20-17. Hilliard had six and Newell added a trey.
Better PBHS defense sparked an offensive run in the third. The Lady Warriors and the Cardinals exchanged the lead five times, but Ell-Saline edged the home team at the end of the period, 32-29. Newell led the team with seven. Morris and Hilliard each had a basket. Gillet added a free throw.
While the Lady Warriors added 16 in the fourth, the Cardinals racked up 23 points. The Lady warriors lost the homecoming battle, 55-45. Hilliard led the final quarter scoring with 12. Newell and Clark each had two. Gillet led the defense with 14 rebounds and Hilliard also had 14.
