Lady Warriors lose final game of season

Peabody-Burns High School girls' basketball team took on top-ranked Berean Academy Feb. 19 for senior night.

The home team Lady Warriors lost to the visiting Lady Warriors 54-24.

The team ended the regular season with a loss Monday to St. Mary's in the first round of sub-state action.

Detailed results will be in next week's issue.

The Lady Warriors scored eight points in the first period.

Bayleigh Clark had four points, while Rebecca Morris and Traylee Woodruff each added a basket.

Berean owned the quarter with 24 points and the score at the end of one was 24-8.

The Berean Academy offense continued to dominate the game and added 18 points before the half.

With only four points for PBHS in the second quarter, the Lady Warriors were down 42-12 at the half.

Jessica Gillet and Tabitha O'Neal each had a basket.

Offense for both teams slowed in the second half, but Berean took the victory 54-23.

Gillet had four points in the half.

O'Neal, Woodruff and Morris each added two, and Danielle Savage contributed a free throw.

Julie Penner and Cathryn Wiebe led the Berean Lady Warrior scoring with 11 points each.
