Lady Warriors lose cold game against Moundridge

Peabody-Burns girls' basketball team lost a league match-up Friday at home against Moundridge, 43-23. The squad was scheduled to play Berean Academy Tuesday.

The game was even in offense early, but the Wildcats pulled ahead by six at the end of the first period, 14-8. Traci Windsor scored first for the Lady Warriors with two free throws. Kali Alstrom, Kate Topham, and Tiana McGee added a basket each.

PBHS offense went dead in the second with only one basket by Jessica Gillet. The Wildcats tacked on 10 before the half to make the gap, 24-10.

Better defense for the squad held the Wildcats to eight in the third. Offensively, the Lady Warriors put up eight, all contributed by Jessi Hilliard.

The team went cold again in the fourth, scoring only three points.

Team scoring was led by Hilliard with 11, Gillet added four, McGee, Topham, Alstrom, and Windsor had two each.
