Lady Warriors get two victories in consolation bracket

Peabody-Burns High School volleyball team came up with two victories Saturday in the consolation bracket of the Heart of America league tournament.
Traveling to Canton-Galva, the Lady Warriors defeated Canton-Galva, 25-21, 25-17, and Berean Academy, 25-20, 25-23.
Andrea Ferren ignited a Lady Warrior run with a difficult dig to put the team up 16-10 in the first game with Canton-Galva. Jessi Hilliard scored the next two points with two kills. Traci Windsor and Hilliard combined for five kills to take the team to 24. Tabitha O'Neal scored an ace for the first game victory.
In game one of the Berean match, Rebecca Morris scored five straight aces to put the Lady Warriors up by 10, 20-10. The game ended with a Hilliard kill.
The team now prepares for sub-state play Saturday at Sacred Heart in Salina.
Hilliard led the team with two blocks, 12 kills, 11 digs, and three aces. Rebecca Morris also had good numbers with five aces, six kills, eight digs, and one assist.

Kali Alstrom — 5 aces, 2 kills, 2 digs, 20 assists.
Hannah Redger — 2 digs, 1 kill, 1 block.
Megan Weber — 3 kills, 9 digs, 2 assists.

Tabitha O'Neal — 1 ace.
