Lady Warriors fall to Broncos

The Peabody-Burns High School Lady Warriors remain winless going into the holiday break with a 49-23 loss Tuesday to Remington.

The team will be on hiatus until a Jan. 4 home game against Bennington.

Remington went on an early run Tuesday and led by 10 before Tabitha O'Neal put PBHS on the scoreboard.

The Lady Broncos would add four more points and led 14-2 after one quarter.

Lady Bronco defensive pressure and an effective full-court press held the Lady Warriors to five points in the second period.

Danielle Savage had a basket and a free throw, and Jessica Gillet added two free throws.

Remington put in 12 points, and the lead was 26-7 at the half.

PBHS' offense improved in the third quarter with the addition of eight points.

Savage scored four, Gillet had two, and Julie Wedel contributed a basket.

Remington continued to score well with a 24-point spread, 39-15, at the end of three.

Felecia Pohlman led the PBHS third-quarter scoring with three points.

Rebecca Morris and Gillet each had a basket, and Traylee Woodruff had a free throw, before the final buzzer sounded.
