Lady Warriors fall in fourth quarter surge

The Lady Warriors took on a tough Remington team Feb. 18 in the next-to-last game of the regular season. While they played well, the Lady Broncos overpowered them in the fourth quarter and they lost by a score of 53-42.

The Lady Warriors were ready for the league match-up, but had some trouble early on offense. Casey Berger and Jana Windsor each had a trey in the quarter. Gretchen Berns led in scoring in the first with six points. They were down by one, 13-12, at the quarter.

Good ball movement and good rebounding gave the Lady Warriors the advantage in the second. Threes were added in the quarter by Marie Unruh an Casey Berger. Also scoring in the quarter were Dalli Hammond and Gretchen Berns. The Lady Warriors took a four point lead, 27-23, to the locker room at the half.

Good play from the Peabody-Burns squad continued in the third. Offensively, the Lady Warriors went a little cold, but hung on to the four point lead, 37-33.

The Lady Broncos found their stride in the fourth and tied the score at 39-39 at the 6:40 mark. The Warriors could only muster four points in the quarter and lost to the Lady Broncos, 53-42.
