Lady Warriors end regular season with loss

In the final contest of the season, the PBHS Lady Warriors went down in defeat to the Lady Warriors of Berean, 61-42. Moving into sub-state competition at 4-16, PBHS is a number eight seed and Tuesday will take on the number one seed, Canton-Galva.
Jessi Hilliard had all of the offensive production in the first quarter against Berean. A basket and three free throws made a six-point deficit at the end of the period, 11-5.
PBHS offense rallied in the second, but Berean also had success at the basket. The PBHS Lady Warriors were down by nine at the half. Hilliard put in seven to lead the team in the period. Elaina Newell got on board with a trey and Bayleigh Clark added a basket.
Berean pulled away from the PBHS squad in the third, taking the lead to 16 at the end of the quarter, 43-27. Hilliard had four in the period. Jessica Gillet, Becky Morris, and Newell each added two.
In the final period, Hilliard added seven. Newell had five. Morris made a basket and Danielle Savage contributed a free throw.
