Lady Warriors drop two at Burrton

The Peabody-Burns Lady Warriors traveled to Burrton to play a dual on Sept. 23. The Lady Chargers defeated the Lady Warriors in both matches.
The first game of the evening was close early on, but the Lady Chargers were able to take advantage of some Lady Warrior mistakes. The first game ended 18-25.
The Lady Warriors had better net play in the second game. Shannon Welsh had a big block early in the game. Good teamwork later tied the score 19-19, but the Lady Warriors couldn't edge the Chargers and lost game two and the match 20-25.
The second match for the Lady Warriors was close and they picked up the pace. Dalli Hammond served well in the game. Marie Unruh had good kills. Gretchen Berns had a big kill to end the game with the Lady Warriors on top 25-22.
Burrton came back strong in game two, taking a ten-point lead early. The Lady Warriors battled back, but couldn't overcome the Lady Charger lead. Gretchen Berns had several kills late, but the Lady Warriors lost game two of the match.
Game three was close with good play by both teams. Ashley Winter served well in the game. Marie Unruh and Sandra McLeod had good court play. The Lady Warriors were defeated 12-15 and the Lady Chargers took both matches from the Peabody-Burns squad.
The Lady Warriors will travel next to Moundridge for more league play.
