Lady Warriors downed by Berean, Goessel

Peabody-Burns High School volleyball team lost two matches Sept. 25 on the road at Goessel.
They were defeated by Berean Academy in two games, 25-21 and 25-23.
Goessel did the same but PBHS battled to force a third match, finally losing, 15-25, 25-18, 23-25.
Danielle Savage led the attack at the net in game one against Berean with five kills and two blocks. Julie Wedel and Becki Morris also recorded kills.
Down 21-14 in game one, PBHS came back to within three at 24-12, behind the serving of Tabitha O'Neal, however PBHS lost the next point and the game.
In game two they trailed 21-14 again, but battled back to cut the lead to one at 24-23.
Berean took the next point and lost that game as well.
In the two games Savage had eight kills and three blocks. Morris had four kills, eight digs, and two blocks.
The Bluebirds rolled PBHS in game one of the second match, 25-16.
In game two, Felecia Pohlman put together 13 serves in-a-row, including two aces, to turn a Warrior 14-10 deficit, into a 22-15 lead.
Morris, Savage, and Wedel defended the net and the Lady Warriors took game two by seven points.
Jumping out to a five-point lead with serving by Morris in game three, PBHS widened the gap to seven before allowing Goessel to come back to tie the game at 10.
Pohlman again stepped into serve trailing 22-18, and brought the team to within one at 22-21.
Wedel helped on the attack, recording two kills during the run.
Still, the Lady Warriors lost in the end by two.
Savage paced the team in the match with 10 kills, while Wedel had six, and Morris added five.
