Lady Warriors defeated twice

The Lady Warriors were defeated twice this past week in road competition. Canton-Galva defeated PBHS, 55-40, and Inman handed the team a 43-30 loss.
The girls played Hutch Trinity Tuesday and have a Friday match-up with Ell-Saline.
Canton-Galva
PBHS offense struggled in the first quarter against Canton-Galva. Elaina Newell shot two treys and Jessi Hilliard added a basket. PBHS defense couldn't stop the Eagles and the deficit was 11 at the end of the first, 19-8.
Better PBHS shooting pulled the team to within three, 21-18, but the Eagles took the eight-point lead at the half. Newell and Jessica Gillet each had six in the second. Tabitha O'Neal added a free throw.
PBHS scored 19 in the second half, but the Eagles added 26. Hilliard had eight in the final period. Newell added a trey. Gillet contributed a free throw.

Inman
The Lady Warriors opened strong in the Inman/PBHS contest. Newell led the PBHS offense with three treys. Gillet added a free throw and the team edged the Teutons 10-9 at the end of the first.
Inman went on a 12-point run in the second to take the lead at the half, 21-13. The only point production for the PBHS squad was a basket by Bayleigh Clark and a free throw by Hilliard.
Lady Warrior offense improved in the third, but the gap was nine at the end of the third, 33-24. Newell paced the team with two treys. Becky Morris had a basket. Hilliard added two free throws and Gillet added one.
In the final period, an assist from Clark to Morris cut the lead to five, 33-28. The Teutons pulled away in the last five minutes of the game and defeated the Lady Warriors.
