Lady Warriors defeat Cardinals

The Lady Warriors chalked up a win and a loss this past week with a Tuesday road victory over Sedgwick, 46-33, and a home loss Friday to Little River, 54-22. The team gets a week off to prepare for the upcoming Berean Academy Tournament.

Lady Warrior offense struggled early in the Sedgwick/PBHS contest, going down by six at the buzzer, 11-5. Jessica Gillet had three points and Tabitha O'Neal had a basket.

PBHS made an offensive run in the second, outscoring the Cardinals, 21-4. Bayleigh Clark gave the Lady Warrior offense a boost in the second with two treys and two baskets. Elaina Newell had two treys. Jessi Hilliard added three and Tabitha O'Neal put in a basket. PBHS led at the half, 26-15.

Both squads' offense slowed in the third. Hilliard and Newell each added three. The Lady Warriors maintained the lead at the end of the period, 32-19.

The Lady Warriors sealed the victory by adding 14 in the final period and defeating the Cardinals. Hilliard had 11. Newell had two free throws and Clark added one.

Little River

In the Little River/PBHS match-up, Lady Warrior offense was down by one at the buzzer, 12-11. Hilliard had six points and Newell had three. Becky Morris added a basket.

Redskin defense held the PBHS squad to seven in the second quarter. Little River added 15 and the gap at the half was nine, 27-18. Newell put in a trey. O'Neal and Clark each had a basket.

PBHS offense in the second half included one basket in the third from Clark and one in the fourth from Hilliard. Little River offense put up 27 to take the win, 54-22.
