Lady Trojans down Nickerson, 36-23 years ago

Hillsboro Lady Trojans picked up a road win Friday night when they toppled the Nickerson Lady Panthers, 36-23, to break .500 at 4-3 on the year.

The Panthers took an early 2-0 lead, but that was the last time Nickerson had the advantage as Hillsboro controlled the remainder of the game.

JuliAnne Chisholm scored a game-high 15 points on seven-for-12 shooting, pulled down a team-high four rebounds, and blocked three shots.

Hannah Marsh and Tina Frick added seven, and six points, respectively.

Hillsboro finished the night shooting 35 percent from the field while holding the Panthers to 24 percent.

The Trojans got the year off to a good start Jan. 3 in Hillsboro, bombing 4A El Dorado, 52-32.

Chisholm again scored a game-high 12 points and Marsh furnished 10. Lora Andrews and Frick tossed in nine, and eight respectively.

Hillsboro will be in action at 6 p.m. Friday when it travels to Lyons.
