Lady Tomahawks win first game

The PBJH Lady Tomahawks opened the season with a victory over the Remington Colts, 38-35. Up next is a home game Thursday against Little River.

Laci McCartney did the offensive work for the Lady Tomahawks, scoring all 11 first-period points. The Colts scored 10 and the PBJH squad led by one, 11-10.

Lauren Pickens added to the offensive production in the second with four points. Embry Hodges and McCartney added a basket each. Colt offense added 11 and PBJH trailed by two at the half, 21-19.

PBJH offense outscored the colts 12-7 in the third to once again take the lead at the end of the third quarter, 31-28. Pickens paced the team with six points. Michaela Methvin added a trey. McCartney put in a basket and Hodges added a free throw.

The fourth quarter was tight with both offenses adding seven points each. Pickens scored all seven for the PBJH squad.
