Lady Tomahawks travel to Sedgwick

The Lady Tomahawks volleyball team traveled to Sedgwick Sept. 11 for its season opener. The team has been working intensely the past three weeks to prepare for the new season with new game rules and new coaches.

The varsity team played well and claimed its first win by dominating the Sedgwick girls with 25-7 and 25-10 victories. Consistent serving proved to be the main factor in this match. Jessica Gillet and Tabitha O'Neal had seven and eight serves in a row, respectively.

Head coach Patty Savage was very satisfied with the serving by the entire team. "We need to work on our transition, but that will come with experience," she said.

The junior varsity had a little more excitement in their match, winning a close first game 30-28. The score of the second game was 25-21.

The "C" team also won both of their games.
