Lady Tomahawks overpower Burrton

The Lady Tomahawks improved their record to two and one on Thursday, defeating Burrton in a three-game match.

The first game showcased a timid Tomahawk team. "We started the game playing scared and unsure of ourselves," said Coach Patty Savage. After a few time-outs the Lady Tomahawks began to use their ability and were able to hold on for a 25-21 victory.

The first game win gave the Lady Tomahawks the confidence they needed to start attacking the ball. Becky Morris had a few crucial hits in the first game.

Poor serving was key to a second game loss with a score of 20-25.

The Lady Tomahawks put together a string of good serving and attacks in the third game to seal up a victory, 15-3. Deidra Garcia came off the bench to serve several crucial points.

The B team improved their play from last week, but lost both games 22-25 and 21-25. Savage noted that "this group of girls will need to continue to improve in both serving and working together as a team."

The C team improved their record to 2-1 beating Burrton in two games.
