Lady Tomahawks drop two

The Lady Tomahawks opened the 2003-04 basketball season with two losses.

In the Nov. 17 road opener the Lady Tomahawks were defeated by the Canton-Galva Eagles 38-22. In the Thursday home opener, the PBJH squad was defeated 49-26 by the Berean Warriors.

Coach Patty Savage praised her team's efforts, but acknowledged that the girls need to shoot more and play smarter to stay out of foul trouble.

The team was in Sedgwick Monday night for a final match-up before Thanksgiving break.

The Lady Tomahawk B team also lost two games last week. At Canton-Galva the reserves were defeated 17-12 and at home against Berean they lost 15-4.

Coach Tiffany Acebedo said that against the Canton-Galva Eagles the team didn't work hard enough blocking out and rebounding. But she was pleased with their defensive game against a taller Berean squad.
