Lady Tomahawks come up short
Peabody-Burns Lady Tomahawks lost a tough match Thursday to the Burrton Chargers. The squad stayed focused and played some long rallies but came up short, losing 15-17, 10-15.
Leading scorers for the match were Ruth McLeod with 10 points and Jessie Hilliard with nine.
The junior varsity team played well, winning the match against the Burrton reserves, 15-7, 15-10.
Leading scorers were Shelby Wilson with nine points and Tabitha O'Neal with eight.
The junior varsity squad also traveled to Wichita Collegiate for a weekend tournament. The Lady Tomahawks were defeated in all three matches: Andale, 4-15, 4-15; Bluestem, 6-15, 15-7, 10-15; and St. Mark's, 5-15, 8-15.
