Lady thinclads are league champs
The PBHS cross country girls' team was named HOA league champions Thursday when the team traveled to Harvey County East Lake for the Heart of America League meet.
Four girls finished in the top six places. Jana Windsor was the fastest girl on the course, finishing first with a time of 12:54. Tiana McGee was close behind at second with a time of 13:10. Ashley Elliott, back from a month's rest due to an injury, came in fourth and Alyssa Carter brought home a sixth place medal. Kate Topham and Anna Zappone also ran for the girls' team.
The boys' team finished fifth with one medal winner. Andrew Topham finished the 5K course in 17:12, earning a fourth place medal. Mirko Dechow, Nicholas Whitney, Josh Ardrey, Jesse Riggs, and Jacob Wolf also ran for the boys' team.
The team will travel Saturday to Raft Golf Course on Tawakoni Road in Wichita for the regional meet.
