For a good portion of Saturday's second half between the Lady Bluejays and the hosting Bethany Lady Swedes, it looked like Tabor's unbeaten streak in the KCAC and 13 consecutive wins were in dire straits.
While the Bluejays have faced 20 teams so far, they haven't had to battle much adversity or had any problems protecting a lead.
They've basically run through about everybody in the league, including the Swedes in Hillsboro.
That changed Saturday with Tabor (17-3, 10-0 KCAC) having to dig down deep to keep its streak alive, coming from behind to dodge a 60-55 bullet.
Neither team could extend a lead the first half with six ties in spite of the Swedes' cold shooting.
The score was still squared at halftime at 28.
It was finally the Bluejays who built on to the lead in the game's final :30 at the free- throw line where Tabor hit 12-for-17 and 11-of-13 the second half.
Jill Hein and Nicole Ellis had 12 points each with Ellis scoring a season-high and Hein draining two-for-two from downtown. Erica Hemmert tossed in 11 points as Tabor dealt with a modest 37 percent night from the field.
Tabor's defense managed to force the Swedes into shooting 32 percent on the night
The Bluejays host arch-rival Sterling Thursday night at 6 p.m. before tackling the Southwestern Lady 'Builders at 5 p.m. Saturday.
