The Peabody-Burns High School Lady Warriors took on a tough Remington Lady Bronco team Feb. 6. A fast-paced game ended with the Lady Warriors out matched 67-35.
Andrea Jones opened the game with a two underneath for the Lady Warriors. Jones added three more in the quarter and Shelby Plummer added a trey to bring the first quarter score to 8-17.
The Lady Broncos had success from their shooters in the first half, but defensively the Lady Warriors did a good job. The Warriors were down by 12 at the half, 17-29.
A tough third quarter only gave the PBHS squad six on the board, four from Jones and two from Dalli Hammond.
The transition game hurt the Lady Warriors in the second half. Lots of turnovers and fouls made for an inconsistent pace. The Lady Warriors were downed by the Lady Broncos 67-35.
"We play hard, but can't play smart," said Coach Washington. "We need to find ways to score and execute our game plan better. We'll keep playing and plugging away until something works."
